Catawba Teen Center

The tribe has chartered the first Boys & Girls Club Native Site in South Carolina. The charter is called the Boys and Girls Club of the Catawba Nation and has one site, the Catawba Teen Center.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America is to enable all young people, especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Clubs are a place where Native American youth can celebrate their culture and community, enjoy healthy fun with their peers and learn new skills and self-confidence under the guidance of responsible caring adults.

The teen center is open to all youths in 6th-12th grades and provides programs such as

• Homework Assistance
• Approved Tutoring Make-Up Times for Rock Hill High School Students
• Athletics
• Career & Paid Apprenticeship Programs
• Community Service
• Technology
• College Trips and Other Special Initiatives

These core programs are designed to engage young people in activities that enable them to develop positive self-esteem and to reach their full potential. In addition, if you have a culturally significant craft or skill you are interested in teaching our Tribal youth we need you. Stipends are available as funds permit for those elders willing to share the Catawba Indian Nations long honored traditions with our youth.
